UMC to host Bible study

LEWISTOWN — First Bakers United Methodist Church will host a Bible study every Wednesday at

7 p.m. They will also host a youth group for individuals under age 18 on the first Thursday of each month, except July.

Schrader to host special speakers

MILROY — Schrader United Methodist Church will host the following speakers during its 8:30 a.m. services:

• July 3 — Chip Baumgardner

• July 10 — D.S. Pastor Brenda Leigey

• July 17 — John Hughes

• July 24 — Clair Diven

• July 31 — Molly Phillips

Locust Grove to host Bluegrass concert

BELLEVILLE — The 41st Annual Big Valley Bluegrass Gospel Concert and Ice Cream Social will return on July 9 after a two year hiatus. The event will be held at Locust Grove Mennonite Church, 3358 W. Main St., Belleville. Two talented bluegrass bands will be featured, including Level Best from Northern VA will begin at 6 p.m. followed at 7 p.m. by The Brush Mountain Bluegrass Band from Centre and Mifflin Counties.

Both are traditional bluegrass bands that have a wide selection of old favorites and gospel selections. The Ice Cream Social begins at 8 p.m. with beverages and Hostetler Ice Cream provided. Guests are encouraged to bring home-made desserts to supplement the ice cream. The final segment of music will feature Level Best. Donations will be requested to support the event.

Beavertown UMC to host Fuller Family

BEAVERTOWN – An outdoor concert by The Fuller Family Singers will be held at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, July 10, 2022 at the pavilion of the Beavertown United Methodist Church, 128 North Orange St., Beavertown. The public is invited to attend with light refreshments following concert. Please bring lawn chairs.

Summer camps return to East Kish

REEDSVILLE — Summer day camps at East Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church, 100 Walnut St., Reedsville, will be held at no cost to campers. To register a child, or for more information, call Gail Wagner at (717) 667-6526. Grades refer to the grade the child has completed. Camps will be offered as follows:

• Computer Camp — 1 to 5:30 p.m. July 11-15. grades 4 and up, snack provided;

• Kids Camp — 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., July 18-22, kindergarten through grade 2, lunch provided;

• Sewing Camp — 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., July 25-29, grade 4 and up, lunch provided.

Locust Grove to host Hymn Sing

ALLENSVILLE — The 19th Annual Heritage Hymn Sing will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2022 at the Locust Grove Mennonite Church. There will be acapella four-part singing by the Mennonite Hymnal and special music by a men’s ensemble and Valley View AM Church Choir. A free will offering will be lifted to benefit Mifflin County Mennonite Heritage Society.

LEWISTOWN — The Sentinel invites area religious leaders to submit columns for “Professions of Faith” in the Sentinel’s weekly religion section.
