LEWISTOWN -- It is a homecoming event for Pastor Kirk Nagel and family as he recently became the new senior pastor of the Lewistown Assembly of God and is ready to spread the love and message of Jesus Christ.

"Very good, feels like home," Nagel said.

The 54 year old Nagel is no stranger to the community despite the fact that he was not originally from the area as he was from Greenville. However his wife of 28 years Andrea was originally from Lewistown. The couple has four children, Josiah, Michaela, Sarah and Aunnah.

Prior to becoming the senior pastor, Nagel and his wife Andrea had live together for 12 years in Lewistown while serving together as Children and Youth Pastor at the church for nine of those years before moving on to other places including a four year stint in Houtzdale as Senior Pastor at the Parsonville assembly of God.

On June 12, Nagel was named senior pastor of Lewistown Assembly of God -- a moment that Nagel himself truly cherishes and appreciates and felt that it was meant to be and couldn't be more at home here in Lewistown Assembly of God.

"I really felt the holy spirit's presence," Nagel said. "And nudging us that this was to be."

"Feels very good." Nagel continued. "Of all the places I've lived in my 54 years of life. This has probably been the one that felt most like home."

The goal for Nagel is simple, to bring unity to the community through the love of Jesus Christ. And he hopes the people of Lewistown will know that the Lord is with them and wants to help people accept Christ as their Lord and Savior.

"Jesus Christ loves you," Nagel said. "And he has a special plan for your life. All you need to do is surrender your life over to his Lordship."
