LEWISTOWN --The St. John's Lutheran Church is hosting a benefit concert to raise money to repair the roof of the church.
The Under One Roof Benefit Concert, will be held at the St. John's Lutheran Church at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 16.
The church hopes to raise $90,000. The free will collection will also be directed to the church's slate/asphalt roofing, sheltering Christ's Church and it's ministry to the community.
No masks will be required at the event.
Performers in Saturday's concert include Penni Abram, Carol Mater, Freda Richard and Jerry Stone on flute. Dr. Rich Burns will perform on guitar and vocals. Peter Marsh will be on handbells. Geneva Kelly will perform a jazz dance while Patty Loudenslager will be playing a piano duets with both Terri Limes and Nellie Wilson.
Caleb Noerr will be doing a piano solo while Dr. Susan Boardman, Rex Goss and Lisa Griffith along with Pastor Ela Robertson will be on vocals. And last but not least, Dave Phillips, Anna Rowles and Emma Sheetz will perform on cellos.
Also the St. John's congregation will be singing "Hallelujah Chorus from Messiah. Anyone that wants to sing along, the church will have copies available if you like or if you have your own copy the church encourages you to bring it with you to the concert.
The church will host a second concert at 3 p.m. May 22.
