One of my favorite lines from the Bible is "Seek and you shall find," in Matthew 7:7, along with "ask and it shall be given" and "knock and it shall be opened unto you." Matthew 7:8 says "For everyone that asketh receiveth" and "he that seeketh findeth and to him that knocketh it shall be opened."
I love these scriptures because they have been something I have been seeking my whole life, especially during these last few years when everything around me feels like its crumbling.
Lord knows, I am not alone in that feeling. Many of us are wondering where we all fit into this world. We are all trying to figure out what we are suppose to be. Not only that, we worry about the unknown and what the future holds for all of us.
With that being said, I don't see many people actually seeking that purpose. Now to be fair, a lot of people have a tough time trying to do so because of a lot of issues like mental health which I, myself, have been dealing with my whole life.
There have been a lot of times I've wondered why I am dealing with these issues -- some of which stem from birth defects called cerebral palsy and scoliosis. I found myself asking "God why? Why was I made this way? Why must I deal with this?"
Sound familiar? I'm sure there are plenty of others who look to the skies and asked the same questions. But it never crossed my mind that I should be seeking the answers. Now there have been moments where people looked at me and said, you can't question God, Joshua. But I don't see it as questioning God's authority, I just simply want to learn and understand God's plan and why I was made the way I am and why things are the way they are in the world. You know? What is the message?
I am trying to help encourage other people to start seeking God and learn from Him. You will be amazed with the things you will learn if you open yourself up to Him, it will bring so much knowledge and love into your life. You may not get the answers right away, but if you have patience and faith, I truly believe that you will learn a lot.
As James 1:5 says that if you ask for Wisdom, God will give it generously without finding fault.
