Ellen Chapel to host Chiz Rider
LEWISTOWN -- Chiz Rider will present a trumpet concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 11 at Ellen Chapel Church.
Nationally known, Chiz has performed with several popular Christian artists as well as at a Billy Graham Crusade and numerous times at the Crystal Cathedral. Donations will be accepted.

Ministry to support single moms
BELLEVILLE -- The Mifflin County Single Moms Care and Support Group will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. the second and fourth Fridays at New Life Church Cafe, 101 Beech St., Burnham from Sept. 10, 2021 to May 27, 2022.
Dinner is served from 6:30 to 7 p.m. for mothers and children. Child care runs from 7 to 8 p.m. while mothers meet in a group. For more information, call or text Ann at (717) 437-4946.
Christmas shop for kids held
MILROY -- Milroy United Methodist Church will host a Santa's Christmas shop from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11. Children ages 5-12 will be given $10 play money so that they may shop for their families for Christmas. Hot dogs and drinks will be available to purchase while children shop. A wrapping station will be there to help children wrap their gifts. The church is located at 91 S. Main Street Milroy. Attendees are asked to enter through the side door of the church. Kish Valley to host concert
REEDSVILLE -- Kish Valley Grace Brethren Church will host a concert with Chiz Rider. The concert will be at 5 p.m. Dec. 12 at Kish Valley Grace Brethren Church, 99 Taylor Dr., Reedsville.
Chiz Rider has been in ministry for over 37 years and has performed with such popular Christian artists as Carman, Margaret Becker, DC Talk, Newsboys, Cindy Morgan, Larnell Harris, and Michael W. Smith. He has also performed at a Billy Graham Crusade and numerous times at the Crystal Cathedral. He has played for several Presidents as well as Congress and performed for the Pennsylvania and West Virginia Special Olympics opening ceremonies.

Reedsville UMC to host movie night
REEDSVILLE -- The film "Christmas Angel" will be shown at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 12 at Reedsville United Methodist Church, 60 East Logan St.
In the movie, 15-year-old Eddie is on a shopping trip with his mother when she is tragically struck by a car and left in critical condition. With their father absent from their lives, Eddie and his brother Stewart face the daunting prospect of potentially losing their mother just as Christmas approaches. One night, Eddie dreams his mother visits him and tells him to find a halo so that she may be saved. Stewart scoffs at Eddie's dream and the only person Eddie can turn to is the grumpy Mr. Lambert, from his school. Will Eddie be able to find an angel and save his mother before Christmas?

BELLEVILLE -- The Big Valley Brethren in Christ Church, 81 Wagner St., Belleville, will host the Bradford Family Musical at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 19.
First Baptist host cantata service
MIFFLINTOWN -- A Christmas Cantata service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 19 at First Baptist Church of Juniata County. The Cantata is under the direction of Rebecca Brubaker.
Sunday School will be at 8:30 a.m. there will not be an 8a.m. or 10:30 a.m. service. First Baptist is located on Route 35, one mile north of Mifflintown.
Christmas gathering slated Dec. 19
LEWISTOWN --Servant's Heart Ministries will present "Here," a Christmas gathering of worship and celebrations with Pastor Jim and Joanna Lucas at 7 p.m. Dec. 19.
Pastor Jim Lucas has been a college music professor, a published composer and has served in worship ministry ion the Philadelphia District Church of the Nacarene since 1999. Most recently, he served as campus pastor of Grace point Lebanon Since 2014.
As of July 2021, Pastor Jim felt released from his role as lead pastor and began a refocused call, serving the church at large. He now serves as a song Evangelist, bringing personalized music resources to churches communities and musicians. His wife, Joanna serves as vice president of Care Management at St. Luke University Health Network in Bethlehem. She has used her nursing skills for many years in direct care with critical care patients and now in administration. She is a gifted pianist, having a natural ear for music and met her husband through music. Together they have three married children and life in Ephrata.
