Hello everybody! May God bless you as you read this and allow Him to reveal His truths to you. Holy Spirit is our teacher and when we ask Him to "revelate" us He will open things up in a fresh, new way.
I want to talk today about pursuing the enemy until we overtake him. We must tear down any stronghold in our lives that would stop us from fulfilling God's mandate for our lives. The enemy will use anything against us, even to what we would consider to be of the smallest detail. We must rise up in the power of Holy Spirit and overtake the enemy. That smallest thing that we would think does not matter, let me assure you it matters. The enemy will use that to take us down, but if we don't give up, we will get the victory because God's power within us is far greater..
Let's go to II Kings chapter 13. Elisha is dying and Joash, the king of Israel, comes to see him. He is grieving and weeping over this mighty prophet. Elisha still has strength from the anointing and will carry that anointing to the grave.
How many times have we used the phrase, "I can feel it in my bones?" Read verse 21 in this chapter and realize that the power of God was bone deep in Elisha. Why can't it be the same for us? Who's to say that it isn't.
Elisha instructs Joash to take a bow and some arrows and shoot out the east window. Elisha keeps his hands on Joash's. I believe this is a portrayal of God's hands over ours to guide us and keep us steady. Elisha tells Joash to shoot and he follows instructions. The shooting of the arrow is a symbol of God's deliverance. Joash is told to strike his enemies until they are destroyed. Elisha instructs him to strike the ground. Joash strikes the ground three times and then stops. Elisha is angry and tells him he should have kept striking for now the enemy would not be totally subdued.
We must be relentless and go after anything in our lives that would hinder our growth and stop our work for the kingdom. The enemy's intention is to cause the smallest "ite" in our lives to rise up and "bite" us. We must keep pursuing the enemy and fight the good fight by the power of the anointing.
Some of you may think that some things are impossible to beat. There are too many "strikes" against you when looked at in the natural. We must always view things from a spiritual outlook. We will then see the impossible take place.
Listen to the words of this song as I sing them to all of you.
"There are things impossible that we will surely see, 'cause the Spirit of the resurrected Christ lives in me." I say to all of us, "Don't give up!" Keep striking the enemy and all of the "ites" within us until we rise up victorious. We have the anointing because Christ lives within every believer. Let's go forth in victory and declare that our enemies are being subdued because we have all the power that we need. I hear the shout of the Lord within the camp. Victory is ours!
