Stony Run to host special services:

McALISTERVILLE -- Stony Run Mission Church, 2825 Evendale Hill Road, McAlisterville, will host the following events

Ministry to support single moms

BELLEVILLE -- The Mifflin County Single Moms Care and Support Group will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. the second and fourth Fridays at New Life Church Cafe, 101 Beech St., Burnham from Sept. 10, 2021 to May 27, 2022.

Dinner is served from 6:30 to 7 p.m. for mothers and children. Child care runs from 7 to 8 p.m. while mothers meet in a group. For more information, call or text Ann at (717) 437-4946.

Church to hold open house

McCOYSVILLE -- McCoysville Presbyterian Church will celebrate 220 years of ministry and 150 years in McCoysville on Sunday, Oct. 31. The church will offer a special worship service at 11 a.m. and then host an open house from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Revival services available

LEWISTOWN -- Revival services will be offered at Mount Rock EM Church, 127 Spring St., Lewistown from Wednesday, Nov. 10 to Sunday, Nov. 14.

The Rev. David Walter will speak at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Reedsville UMC to host movie night

REEDSVILLE -- Reedsville United Methodist Church, 60 E. Logan St. will host a free movie night at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14.

The film is "God Bless the Broken Road," which tells the story of a young mother who loses her husband in Afghanistan and struggles to raise their young daughter in his absence. The film combines elements of faith, country music, and stock car racing while paying tribute to those who serve in the United States Military. Refreshments will be served.

Group to perform at Browns

McALISTERVILLE -- Re-Creation will perform at Brown's United Methodist Church, 33401 Rt. 35 N, McAlisterville, at 9 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 14.

Goodling to host annual concert

RICHFIELD -- Jeremy Goodling, local Christian soloist, will host his annual concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, at Niemond's Independent Church, state Route 35 in Richfield. His four teenage daughters, The Goodling Girls, will join him on stage again this year, as well as his parents Dennis and Nancy Goodling. Patriotic service offered

MIFFLINTOWN -- The First Baptist Church of Juniata County, 1 mile north of Mifflintown on Route 35, will hold its annual patriotic service honoring military veterans at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 14.

Guest speaker will be Chaplain Maj. Damon C. Missouri. Missouri has served for 11 years in the New Jersey Army National Guard. He is currently the 44th Infantry Brigade Combat Team Command Chaplain overseeing six battalions. He and his team are responsible for providing pastoral care for over 3,000 soldiers and their families.

All veterans will be honored. Invite your friends and family to attend.

Concert slated Nov. 28

McALISTERVILLLE -- Ernie Haase and Signature Sound will be in concert at Bunkertown Brethren Church at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28. For tickets, call the church at (717) 463-3572 during morning hours.

Opportunity offered to aid ministry

BURNHAM -- A one-day chartered bus trip to a Baltimore processing center to pack boxes for Operation Christmas Child will be offered on Monday, Nov. 29. The trip is sponsored by the Juniata Valley Area Team. The team will depart from the Lewistown Walmart at 6 p.m. and work from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The group is expected to return by 9:15 p.m. There will be a stop for breakfast and dinner along the way. A day at the processing center includes working on filler items to be placed into shoeboxes where and as needed, checking each and every box for money/checks, making sure there isn't anything not permitted in each box, taping them up, and putting them into shipper boxes. Jobs are available for those that may not be able to stand for long periods of time as well.
