¯ Oct. 17-20 — Fall revival services with Billy Huddleston. Sunday services will be at 9:15 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday will be at 7 p.m. each evening.

¯ Oct. 24 — Gary Krabill will share at 6 p.m.

¯ Oct. 31 — Hymn sing at 6 p.m. with Mike Neimond

Ministry to support single moms

BELLEVILLE — The Mifflin County Single Moms Care and Support Group will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. the second and fourth Fridays at New Life Church Cafe, 101 Beech St., Burnham from Sept. 10, 2021 to May 27, 2022.

Dinner is served from 6:30 to 7 p.m. for mothers and children. Child care runs from 7 to 8 p.m. while mothers meet in a group. For more information, call or text Ann at (717) 437-4946.

First Baptist to host conference

MIFFLINTOWN — First Baptist Church, Route 35, Mifflintown, will host a special Bible conference on Oct. 16 and 17 with featured speaker Dr. Jobe Martin.

Events are as follows:

¯Saturday, Oct. 16 — 6:30 p.m.: “Speeding Toward a Socialist America”

¯Sunday, Oct. 17 — 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.: “The Evolution of a Creationist” – Dr. Martin’s personal testimony

–9:15 a.m.: Combined Adult/Teen S. S.: “Developing Discernment in a Culture of Deception”

— 7 p.m.: “Biblically Handling Technology and Social Media”

Jobe Martin, a native of Bloomsburg, and a 1966 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Dental School. After spending two years in the Air Force where he was a dentist for the Presidential flight crews of Air Force One, he established a private dental practice at NASA in Houston, TX.

Jobe and his wife, Jenna Dee, moved to Dallas in 1971 when he assumed a teaching post at the Baylor College of Dentistry. In 1982, he left to enroll at Dallas Theological Seminary, graduating in 1986 with a Masters in Theology and founded the Martin family ministry, Biblical Discipleship Ministries. He is the featured speaker on the three-part series, Incredible Creatures that Defy Evolution as well as the Creation Proclaims creation series. He has written the book “The Evolution of a Creationist.”

Reedsville UMC to host movie night

REEDSVILLE — The movie “I still Believe,” about singer Jeremy Camp, will be shown at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 10 at Reedsville United Methodist Church, 60 E. Logan St. Refreshments will be served.

Church to host benefit concert

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Alliance Church Youth Group Life 2022 Benefit Concert will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 10 at Lewistown Alliance Church, 50 Hudson Ave., Lewistown.

Music ministry offered at Vira

VIRA — Theil and Andrea Kauffman will perform their music ministry at 9 a.m. Oct. 10 at Vira Presbyterian Church.

New Beginning to host music

PORT ROYAL — Canaan’s Land Bluegrass Band will perform 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 23 at New Beginning Church, 6 miles South of Port Royal. A free will offering will be accepted.

Kish Valley to host concert

Heartbeat Services hosts banquet

MIFFLINTOWN — Heartbeat Community Services, Inc. will host its Annual Fall Banquet at Mifflintown FMC building, behind First Baptist Church, 23964 Rt. 35 N., Mifflintown, at 6 p.m. Oct. 30.

Hors d’oeuvres will be served at 5:30 p.m. Speaker will be Anita Keagy, author of “The File: A Mother & Child’s Life Changing Reunion & DVD Series, “Seeking God First.”

Cost to attend is $20 per person. Make checks payable to Heartbeat Community Services and mail to P.O. Box 25, Millerstown, PA 17062 by Sunday, Oct. 24. Teenagers are free, but must be registered.

Gator camp dinner scheduled

BELLEVILLE — Gator Wilderness Camp School will hold its Annual Gator Camp Awareness Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 30 at Locust Grove Mennonite Church.

Gator Wilderness Camp School is a school for boys, ages 10 years-16 years, in southwest Florida. At Gator Wilderness Camp School, boys focus on building relationships, problem solving, and learning responsibility.

There is no charge for the dinner, but a free offering will be lifted. All donations go directly to Gator Wilderness Camp School. Reservations do need to be made no later than Oct. 23, and can be made locally by contacting Ann Kanagy at (717) 437-4946, Gator Camp at (941) 639-7722 or emailing gatorcamp@gmail.com.

Church to hold open house

McCOYSVILLE — McCoysville Presbyterian Church will celebrate 220 years of ministry and 150 years in McCoysville on Sunday, Oct. 31. The church will offer a special worship service at 11 a.m. and then host an open house from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Group aids survivors in coping with grief

McVEYTOWN — Pine Glen Alliance Church, Route 103, near McVeytown, is offering a free program to help cope with the death of a loved one called Surviving the Holidays by GriefShare. The program will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. The program uses practical Biblical based tools to help face tough emotions with a measure of peace and assurance.

Opportunity offered to aid ministry

BURNHAM — A one-day chartered bus trip to a Baltimore processing center to pack boxes for Operation Christmas Child will be offered on Monday, Nov. 29. The trip is sponsored by the Juniata Valley Area Team. The team will depart from the Lewistown Walmart at 6 p.m. and work from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The group is expected to return by 9:15 p.m. There will be a stop for breakfast and dinner along the way. A day at the processing center includes working on filler items to be placed into shoeboxes where and as needed, checking each and every box for money/checks, making sure there isn’t anything not permitted in each box, taping them up, and putting them into shipper boxes. Jobs are available for those that may not be able to stand for long periods of time as well.
