Online auction to offer surplus PennDOT equipment this month
HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Department of General Services will open an online auction this month featuring surplus Pennsylvania Department of Transportation equipment, including dump trucks, off-road vehicles and heavy machinery.
A municipal-only auction will run from July 14-28, followed by a public auction from July 29 through Aug. 14. The auctions will provide municipalities and the general public an opportunity to purchase previously state-owned equipment.
The auction will be conducted online through GovDeals. Interested buyers must register on the auction platform before browsing available items, scheduling inspections and placing bids.
Equipment available will include off-road vehicles, dump trucks and other surplus PennDOT machinery.
Prospective buyers may inspect items by appointment from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 4-6 at 5 Mountain Road, Grantville.
The State Surplus Property Program, operated by the Department of General Services, resells surplus government equipment to extend its useful life and reduce waste.
