PennDOT seeks public comment on program for transportation
HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is seeking public comment on the draft 2027 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program, a four-year plan outlining transportation projects eligible for federal, state, local and private funding.
The public comment period is open through 5 p.m. June 30.
According to PennDOT, the program includes 24 regional Transportation Improvement Programs and other transportation initiatives designed to support a safe and reliable transportation network across the state. The plan is updated every two years and is scheduled for adoption by the State Transportation Commission during its Aug. 5 meeting as part of the state’s 12-Year Program update.
“PennDOT’s primary objective is to build and maintain a transportation network that serves all of our travelers,” PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll said in a statement. “Planning for the future of transportation infrastructure is a complex process, and I encourage everyone to submit their comments and take part in it.”
The draft program and an overview of the planning process are available online at TalkPATransportation.com. Comments may be submitted through the website, by email to RA-PennDOTSTC@pa.gov, or by calling 717-783-2262.
