Route 45 resurfacing work starts Tuesday
CLEARFIELD — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced a resurfacing project on a section of Route 45 in Centre County will begin Tuesday.
According to PennDOT, the project will improve roadway safety and ride quality.
Contractors will begin milling operations on Route 45 between Penn’s Cave Road in Gregg Township and South Street in Millheim Borough. Flaggers will provide traffic control during daylight hours.
Motorists are advised to watch for slow-moving and stopped vehicles throughout the work zone and obey posted speed limits.
The overall project includes milling, paving, line painting, shoulder work and the installation of guiderail and rumble strips.
The project is part of a larger contract that also includes resurfacing Route 550 and Howard Street in Bellefonte. PennDOT said work on those sections will be announced later.
Glenn O. Hawbaker is the contractor for the $2.2 million project, which is expected to be completed in August.
