Police investigate theft of used cooking oil LEWISTOWN — Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown are investigating the reported theft of about $600 worth of used cooking oil from a property along U.S. 22 in Wayne Township. Police said someone took the oil from a container at the rear of the property sometime between Jan. 11 and Aug. 22. Buffalo Biodiesel Inc. of Buffalo, New York, was identified as the victim. Horses removed from Lewistown man’s custody in New York
DEKALB, N.Y. — Horses allegedly being transported through New York to Canada for slaughter and human consumption were removed from the custody of a Lewistown man following a traffic stop, according to New York State Police. Robert M. Seitz, of Lewistown, was stopped at about 2:24 a.m. Sept. 2 while driving a 2007 Freightliner towing a livestock trailer north on U.S. Highway 11 in the town of DeKalb, police said in a news release.
