Lewistown man arrested following traffic stop

BURNHAM -- A Lewistown man was arrested following a traffic stop on North Logan Boulevard in Burnham Borough on Sept. 17, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown.

Police said Nicholas McNeil, 25, was stopped at approximately 9:16 p.m. near 402 N. Logan Blvd. for multiple traffic violations.

During the stop, police determined McNeil was under the influence of alcohol and marijuana. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.

The investigation remains open.

Driver injured in Route 522 crash

McVEYTOWN -- A 19-year-old Mapleton Depot man sustained suspected minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 522 at approximately 3:35 p.m. Sept. 23, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown.

Police said Joshua T. Neely, 19, was driving a 1998 Toyota Corolla southbound when he rear-ended a 2026 Infiniti QX4 driven by Vitalii Chokh, 25, of Lebanon, who was stopped for traffic.

Neely sustained suspected minor injuries to both arms and wrists and was transported to Geisinger Lewistown Hospital by McVeytown EMS. Chokh was not injured.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Neely’s vehicle was towed from the scene by Houtz Towing.

Police cited Neely for driving at an unsafe speed.

McVeytown Fire/EMS assisted at the scene.

Driver injured in Greenwood Township crash

MILLERSTOWN -- An 84-year-old Mount Pleasant Mills man sustained minor injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Seven Stars Road at approximately 10:02 a.m. Sept. 29, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown.

Police said Raymond L. Snyder was traveling south in a 2015 Subaru Forester when his vehicle left the right side of the roadway. Snyder attempted to regain control but crossed the road and traveled off the left side, striking a utility pole before coming to rest in a field.

Snyder, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported to Evangelical Community Hospital by Liverpool EMS.

Police cited Snyder for a roadway violation.

Police seek owner of found purse

MIFFLINTOWN -- Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown are seeking the owner of a pink coin purse found at a produce stand near 9818 William Penn Highway in Walker Township.

Police said the purse was reported Aug. 21, but the person who found it indicated it had been discovered approximately one year earlier.

Anyone with information about the purse’s ownership is asked to contact state police at (717) 320-1010.

Police seek owner of found wallet

THOMPSONTOWN -- Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown are seeking assistance in locating the owner of a brown wallet found along U.S. Route 322 in Fermanagh Township.

Police said the wallet, reported found Aug. 21 near 1975 U.S. Route 322 West, belongs to David Nace of Carlisle.

Multiple attempts to contact Nace have been unsuccessful.

Anyone who knows Nace or has information that could help locate him is asked to contact state police at (717) 320-1010.
