PennDOT said shoulder maintenance and side dozing improve drainage by removing excess material and debris, helping prevent pavement deterioration and winter icing conditions. Crack sealing and patching help extend the life of road surfaces by preventing water from entering damaged pavement.
Motorists encountering pilot vehicles displaying a “Pilot Car Follow Me” sign must remain behind them until they leave the roadway.
All work is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled because of emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances.
