Beavertown Historical Society Museum open Oct. 25, Nov. 8 and 22
BEAVERTOWN -- The Beavertown Historical Society Museum will be open on the following Sundays: October 25 and November 8 and 22. Their current exhibit is "Beavertown's Restaurants," which is filled with photographs, memorabilia and reminders of restaurants and eating places that were once part of everyday life in Beavertown. Hours are 1 to 3 p.m. The museum is located in the Beavertown Borough Building, located at 111 W.. Walnut St., Beavertown.
Milroy Lions Club Golf Tournament set for Oct. 25 at LCC
LEWISTOWN -- The Milroy Lions Club will hold golf tournament fundraiser on Sunday, Oct. 25, at the Lewistown Country Club, 306 Country Club Road, Lewistown. The shotgun start will take place at 10 a.m., with registration starting at 9 a.m. The format will be a four-person scramble with the cost at $100 per person. A meal is also included with turkey, honey glazed ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, cupcakes and a non-alcoholic beverage. Skill prizes include: closest to the pin on holes No. 3, 8, 10 and 12; longest drive; straightest drive; and flighted prizes. There will also be a 50/50 drawing and door prizes.
