WILLIAMSPORT -- The Flying Ivories Dueling Pianos will perform Nov. 15 at the Williamsport Scottish Rite in a fundraising event benefiting local nonprofit organizations and Scottish Rite charities.
The show will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Howard Memorial Theater, 348 Market St., with doors opening at 1 p.m.
The performance will feature two pianists combining music, comedy and audience participation. Attendees can request songs and sing along to selections ranging from classic rock and pop to country and other genres. The performers’ repertoire includes music by Billy Joel, Aretha Franklin, Johnny Cash, Taylor Swift and Metallica.
"The magic of dueling pianos is that the audience isn't just watching a show - they are helping to create it," said Jack Becker, chairman of the Scottish Rite’s events committee. "Whether guests want to sing their hearts out, request a favorite song, or simply enjoy the energy in the room, this show is creating an experience that brings people together through music."
Seating in the second-floor theater is limited to 150 people. Attendees may bring their own snacks, but outside beverages are prohibited. The Bar on Market will offer alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, along with hot dogs for purchase.
A silent auction is also planned to raise additional funds for charitable programs and community initiatives.
The performance is the second of three fundraising events planned for the Scottish Rite’s 2026-27 season. According to organizers, 60% of the money raised will go toward local charitable organizations, with proceeds also supporting Scottish Rite programs, including children’s dyslexia centers, scholarships and assistance for Masonic families facing financial hardships.
Jim Shaible, president of the Williamsport Scottish Rite Board of Trustees, said the organization has begun expanding its entertainment offerings to make greater use of its theater facilities while raising money for charitable causes.
The organization plans to host as many as four major concerts featuring tribute bands in 2027.
In September, the Williamsport Scottish Rite Foundation distributed more than $12,000 to local nonprofit organizations through proceeds from corporate sponsorships and ticket sales at two events earlier this year.
Recipients included the Lycoming County SPCA, American Rescue Workers, YMCA/YWCA, American Red Cross, Central Pennsylvania Food Bank and Janet Weis Children’s Hospital.
Advance tickets for the Flying Ivories performance are $25 per person, while reserved tables of eight are available for $175. Tickets will cost $35 at the door, if any remain.
