UNIVERSITY PARK -- Adults with or at risk of Type 2 diabetes can benefit from a 50% discount on select Penn State Extension webinars and workshops during Diabetes Awareness Month in November.
For many people with Type 2 diabetes, making positive changes in areas such as eating habits, physical activity and adherence to medication can help improve their diabetes status. However, making these lifestyle changes can be a challenge.
"Dining with Diabetes" is a collection of in-person workshops and webinars for adults with Type 2 diabetes or prediabetes and their families. These programs are designed to help participants understand key aspects of managing diabetes. Participants can choose the format they prefer to attend.
The in-person workshop series will feature four weekly classes in consecutive weeks, with a three-month follow-up. Sessions will be held in various locations around the state. Each class offers discussions from trained Penn State Extension educators with information to help manage diabetes, along with food demonstrations and physical activity suggestions. In addition to program booklets, participants will receive the Dining with Diabetes cookbook and course handouts.
The live webinar series covers the same content as the in-person workshops. Registration is required for access to the webinars. Registrants also will receive access to the recorded webinars.
A 50% discount will be applied to the workshop and webinar fees at checkout.
More information and registration is available on the Penn State Extension website.
