PLEASANT GAP -- The Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science and Technology will hold its annual Fall Open House and Food Truck Festival on Thursday, at its campus at 540 N. Harrison Road in Pleasant Gap.
The open house will run from 4 to 7 p.m., while the food truck festival is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., with approximately 12 vendors expected to participate.
During the open house, visitors can tour classrooms, laboratories and training facilities, meet instructors and learn about the school’s career and technical education programs for high school students and adults.
CPI provides career and technical education to students from Bald Eagle Area, Bellefonte Area and Penns Valley Area school districts, as well as other participating schools. Programs offer hands-on instruction and opportunities to earn industry-recognized credentials while completing high school.
The institute also offers post-secondary training for adults seeking specialized skills or preparing to enter a new career field. Its post-secondary programs currently serve students from more than 16 counties, as well as international students.
“Our goal is to help students recognize that there are many different paths to success after high school,” said MaryAnn Volders, CPI president and executive director. “Our Open House is a chance to ask questions, explore possibilities, and begin planning for the future.”
Prospective students and their families will be able to speak with instructors and staff about program requirements, career pathways and opportunities for further education or apprenticeships.
The event is open to the public.
