UNIVERSITY PARK -- The stage adaptation of the murder-mystery comedy "Clue" will make its Penn State debut at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at Eisenhower Auditorium.
Based on the 1985 Paramount Pictures film and inspired by the Hasbro board game, "Clue" follows six guests who gather at Boddy Manor, where murder and blackmail set off a fast-paced mystery as the characters try to determine who committed the crime, where and with what weapon.
The production is directed by Broadway director Casey Hushion, whose credits include serving as associate director of "Mean Girls" and providing choreography for "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt."
The cast includes Sarah Mackenzie Baron as Mrs. White, Adam Brett as Wadsworth, Camille Capers as Miss Scarlet, Nate Curlott as Colonel Mustard, Joseph Dalfonso as Mr. Boddy, TJ Lamando as Mr. Green, Madeline Raube as Mrs. Peacock and Kyle Yampiro as Professor Plum.
Also appearing are AT Sanders, Zoie Tannous and Kebron Woodfin. Thomas Netter, Allison Masulis, Taylor Tveten and Layne Roate serve as understudies.
The stage production was written by Sandy Rustin, with additional material by Hunter Foster and Eric Price and original music by Michael Holland. It is based on the screenplay by Jonathan Lynn.
The "Clue" franchise dates to 1949 with the introduction of the Cluedo board game. The game, now owned and published by Hasbro, has sold more than 200 million copies worldwide. Paramount Pictures released the comedy film based on the game in 1985.
The touring stage production was originally produced at Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope and developed by Cleveland Play House. The second North American tour is produced by Work Light Productions and LME Productions.
Tickets for the Penn State performance range from $74 to $89 for adults, $52 to $57 for University Park students and $57 to $72 for those 18 and younger.
