Sadie Peachey
Greetings to all and happy birthday today to Josiah H. Peachey and to Mrs. Samuel Nancy Peachey.
Annie, wife of Josiah H. Peachey, could go home from the hospital on the 22nd after being there several days, having surgery to replace a hip ball, cementing it. She has osteoporosis of the bones. Not sure if I put their address in last week or not. 864 West Back Mountain Rd, Belleville, PA 17004. I didn’t hear how Sally C. Peachey is doing after her hospital stay due to a stroke.
It’s cloudy and drizzling this morning. Time to read out the garden and put it to sleep. The last hard rain was hard on the tomatoes, but we had plenty. We enjoy the late-planted sweet corn, though the stalks aren’t nice anymore. Yes, fall is here. Lovely blue skies and more. Farmers are busy harvesting corn, which looks like a good crop.
A son, Henry, was born on the 14th to Joseph and Lena Peachey, joining a brother and sister. Grandparents are Josiah and Lavina Peachey and Stephen and Nancy Kanagy. Great-grandparents are Josiah and Annie Peachey, Joseph and Nancy Hostetler, and John Peight.
A son, Levi, was born on the 20th to Ephrain and Joanna Peachey, joining three brothers. Grandparents are Sylvanus and Ida Peachey and Emanuel and Barbara Kanagy. Great-grandparents are Urie and Rachel Zook, David and Ella Kanagy, and Mar. Barbara Peachey.
The twins in the other house are 5 weeks old today and last week weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces and five pounds and four ounces. I’m looking forward to when we get them to smile and notice us. They bring them over to our house so Mother can see them too.
I see some blue sky, so it may get sunny yet.
Best wishes to all.
