Woman arrested on warrant; police report drugs found
LEWISTOWN -- A woman was taken into custody on an active warrant Aug. 31 during an incident in which police reported finding suspected methamphetamine and THC spray.
According to a Lewistown Police Department release issued Thursday, Marylee E. Dull, 31, address unknown, was arrested on the warrant at 4:13 p.m.
Police said suspected methamphetamine was found beneath the passenger seat of the vehicle. Dull denied that it belonged to her. Police also reported finding THC spray in her possession.
The driver, Samuel R. Ryder, 53, of Lewistown, did not have insurance on the vehicle and was charged, according to police.
Man charged as fugitive from justice
LEWISTOWN -- A man being held in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility was charged as a fugitive from justice Aug. 31 after Lewistown police learned he was wanted in Maryland.
According to a Lewistown Police Department release issued Thursday, officers determined at 7:50 p.m. that Richard E. Keller, 60, address unknown, was wanted in Maryland in connection with a drug possession charge.
Police subsequently charged Keller as a fugitive from justice.
Police investigate suspected neglect of two dogs
LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown police are investigating suspected animal neglect after two dogs were found inside a condemned residence Sept. 1.
According to a Lewistown Police Department release issued Thursday, officers found the dogs at 7:46 p.m. Police described the animals as emaciated, dehydrated and flea-infested and said no food or water was available to them.
The dogs were taken to an emergency veterinary clinic for treatment.
Police said charges are pending.
Police seek driver after e-bike rider struck
LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown police are working to identify a driver after an e-bike rider was struck by a pickup truck Sept. 1.
According to a Lewistown Police Department release issued Thursday, the unidentified e-bike rider was struck by a silver Ford F-150 on West Valley Street at 8:58 p.m.
Police said the rider suffered minor abrasions.
The investigation is continuing.
Police investigate hit-and-run on Valley Street
LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown police are investigating a hit-and-run that damaged a parked vehicle on Valley Street Sept. 1.
According to a Lewistown Police Department release issued Thursday, police received the report at 8:59 p.m. after the mirror of a legally parked vehicle was damaged.
Police said no vehicle involved in the incident has been identified.
Man arrested on warrant following bicycle stop
LEWISTOWN -- A man was arrested on an active warrant after Lewistown police attempted to stop him for riding a bicycle without lights Sept. 1.
According to a Lewistown Police Department release issued Thursday, officers attempted to stop Levi T. Ryder, 30, address unknown, at 10:14 p.m.
Police said Ryder initially failed to stop and reached into his pockets. He later told officers he had two knives, according to the release.
Police reported finding suspected methamphetamine and pipes in Ryder’s possession. He was taken into custody on an active warrant, and additional charges were filed.
Police investigate theft of collectible cards
LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown police are investigating the reported theft of about $400 worth of collectible cards from a vehicle Sept. 2.
According to a Lewistown Police Department release issued Thursday, a Domino’s employee reported the theft at 1:01 a.m.
Police said a local business later retained the cards after a person attempted to sell them there. Officers reviewed video and said they recognized the person who allegedly attempted to sell the cards.
Police are attempting to contact that person.
Charges pending following suspected impaired driving stop
LEWISTOWN -- Charges are pending toxicology results following a suspected impaired driving investigation Sept. 2, according to a Lewistown Police Department release issued Thursday.
Police said an unidentified driver with a suspended license showed signs of possible cocaine impairment during a traffic stop at 7:33 p.m.
According to police, suspected crack cocaine fell from the man’s pocket while he was being taken into custody. Police said a subsequent search conducted under a warrant resulted in the seizure of a pipe, scale and suspected cocaine.
E-bike rider cited following crash
LEWISTOWN -- A Lewistown man was cited for public drunkenness following an e-bike crash Sept. 2, according to a Lewistown Police Department release issued Thursday.
Police said Kerry R. Scott, 54, crashed an e-bike and went inside a building at 7:41 p.m.
Officers reported that Scott appeared intoxicated. Police said a preliminary breath test indicated a blood alcohol concentration of 0.19%.
Scott was cited for public drunkenness. Police said officers also advised him that Pennsylvania’s driving-under-the-influence laws can apply to bicycles.
Two charged following reported knife incident
LEWISTOWN -- Two Lewistown residents face charges following a reported dispute involving a knife Sept. 2, according to a Lewistown Police Department release issued Thursday.
Police said Monique Crawford, 59, confronted another person over $10 in change and later displayed a folding knife during the dispute at 11:02 p.m. The other person suffered a minor injury, according to police.
A witness told officers the knife was in a nearby vehicle. Police said James Panunzio, 63, threw the knife beneath the vehicle and denied knowing about it.
Crawford was charged with two counts of simple assault. Panunzio was charged with obstruction, according to police.
