Fentanyl seized during traffic stop
LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown Police Department officers assisted after a Mifflin County Regional officer stopped Merrill W. Cramer Jr., 47, of Lewistown, for a red light violation at Spring and East Walnut Streets in Lewistown at 9:07 a.m. on Sept. 10, according to a release issued on Thursday. Cramer admitted he had "dope" in a cigarette box, and officers seized a small bag of fentanyl. He was charged with possession of controlled substances and a summary traffic violation.
Valentin arrested on multiple warrants
Michelle Valentin, 34, of Lewistown, was taken into custody by Lewistown Police Department officers behind the Major League Bottle Shop after Pennsylvania State Police Troop G VICE detectives advised they had an arrest warrant for cocaine sales at 2:10 p.m. on Sept. 10, according to a release issued on Thursday. Lewistown officers also held warrants for felony animal cruelty involving abandoned dogs, and a third warrant from PSP Newport was discovered for failure to appear on a DUI case. Valentin was lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown.
Inmate charged as fugitive from justice
LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown Police Department officers were informed that Mifflin County Correctional Facility inmate Emma L. Ennist, 40, of address unknown, had a nationwide extradition warrant from Orange County Court in New York for third degree grand larceny at 2:40 p.m. on Sept. 10, according to a release issued on Thursday. Ennist, originally lodged on a PSP Lewistown warrant, was charged administratively as a fugitive from justice pending extradition.
Gun complaint unfounded after search
LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown Police Department officers and assisting agencies responded to reports of three people waving a gun behind the 400 block of West Fourth Street and later Carbon Alley at 8:54 p.m. on Sept. 10, according to a release issued on Thursday. No suspects were located.
Man found slumped at Sheetz charged with drug offenses
LEWISTOWN -- Samuel D. Sharp, 34, of Lewistown, was contacted by Lewistown Police Department officers contacted after he was found slumped beside the Sheetz building on North Juniata Street in Lewistown at 10:24 p.m. on Sept. 10, according to a release issued on Thursday. Sharp allegedly admitted consuming Suboxone and THC and produced a THC vape without a medical card. He was charged with possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.
Rheam arrested after bicycle pursuit; meth located
LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown Police Department officers attempted to stop Penns C. Rheam, 28, of Derry Township,, who had a parole violation warrant at 1:49 a.m. on Sept. 10, according to a release issued on Thursday. Rheam fled on his bicycle until officers blocked his path and secured him. Two hypodermic needles and a container of clear liquid later testing positive for methamphetamine were found. Rheam was lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown and charged with possession of controlled substances and paraphernalia.
Ryder charged with drug paraphernalia
LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown Police Department officers contacted Levi T. Ryder, 30, of Lewistown, on East Walnut Street regarding property from a prior incident at 2:24 a.m. on Sept. 11, according to a release issued on Thursday. Ryder admitted possessing a pipe used to smoke methamphetamine and handed it over. He was charged with drug paraphernalia.
Wilt arrested on three warrants
LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown Police Department officers located two subjects in Rec Park after closing hours at 11:39 p.m. on Sept. 11, according to a release issued on Thursday. One, Franklin G. Wilt Jr., 34, of Granville Township, had three active warrants including a prothonotary warrant and two summary traffic warrants. Wilt was taken into custody and lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown.
Montalvo Baez arrested on warrants; opioid strip found
LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown Police Department officers responded to suspicious activity at a church parking lot on Central Avenue in Lewistown at 12:25 a.m. on Sept. 13, according to a release issued on Thursday. Officers identified Wilfredo Montalvo Baez, 41, of Lewistown, who had domestic relations and traffic warrants. He was found with a buprenorphine sublingual strip not prescribed to him and was lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Runaway juvenile located
LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown Police Department officers recognized a 17 year old juvenile on East Market Street in Lewistown as previously reported missing to Mifflin County Regional Police at 9 p.m. on Sept. 14, according to a release issued on Thursday. The juvenile was taken into custody and released to MCRPD.
Pedestrian injured in crash deemed at fault
LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown Police Department officers responded to Juniata Street at West Market Street in Lewistown for a pedestrian crash at 9:28 a.m. on Sept. 15, according to a release issued on Thursday. A 20 year old pedestrian ran into the front driver side of a pickup truck while crossing against the signal, sustaining a broken pelvis, facial fractures and a concussion. The pedestrian was transported by FAME EMS and deemed at fault.
Road rage report leads to drug charge
LEWISTOWN -- Terrell L. Cash, 22, of Baltimore, Md., was charged with possession of controlled substances after an incident at a Lewistown convenience store at 10:42 p.m. on Sept. 15, according to a release issued on Thursday. Lewistown Police Department officers stopped a black Dodge Durango after a motorist reported the driver brandished a gun. The driver, was identified as the same male panhandling at Sheetz earlier. Cash exited the vehicle yelling he had no gun; officers detected a strong odor of marijuana and Cash handed over several bags of marijuana. No firearm was found. Cash said he was trying to get home to Baltimore.
Rogers investigated for impaired driving; charges pending
LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown Police Department officers followed Trevino E. Rogers, 54, of Lewistown, after observing improper signal use and delayed reactions at traffic lights at 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 16, according to a release issued on Thursday. Rogers allegedly appeared drowsy and showed impairment indicators during field sobriety tests. A search located a baggy with methamphetamine residue. A drug recognition expert determined impairment from CNS stimulants and cannabis. Blood was drawn and charges are pending toxicology, police said.
Scheffel arrested on prothonotary warrant
LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown Police Department officers located Austin J. Scheffel, 34, of Lewistown, on West Third Street in Lewistown at 1:46 p.m. on Sept. 16, according to a release issued on Thursday. Scheffel had a prothonotary warrant for failure to pay fines and costs and was lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown.
