Police investigate theft of used cooking oil
LEWISTOWN -- Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown are investigating the reported theft of about $600 worth of used cooking oil from a property along U.S. 22 in Wayne Township.
Police said someone took the oil from a container at the rear of the property sometime between Jan. 11 and Aug. 22. Buffalo Biodiesel Inc. of Buffalo, New York, was identified as the victim.

Harrisburg man cited following disturbance
SELINSGROVE -- A Harrisburg man was cited following a reported disturbance Wednesday in Washington Township, Snyder County, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Selinsgrove.
Police said they responded to 631 Weller Hill Road at about 10 p.m. and investigated a criminal mischief complaint involving damage to a large sheet of tin roofing on a home. The damage was estimated at $12.
Police identified Steele Wiedrich, 35, of Harrisburg, as the person cited. Robert Levanowitz, 49, of Middleburg, was identified as the victim.
Police investigate slashed tire
LEWISTOWN -- Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown are investigating after a Mount Union woman reported that a tire on her vehicle was slashed in Wayne Township.
Police said the damage occurred sometime between 8 p.m. Aug. 14 and 4 a.m. Aug. 15 on Wharton Road.
No leads had been developed at the time of the report. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Lewistown at (717) 320-1010.
Texas man arrested for DUI after traffic stop
MIFFLINTOWN -- Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown arrested Felix Apolinar, 25, of San Antonio, Texas, for suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop at 1:32 a.m. Sept. 5 on Parkside Court in Fermanagh Township, Juniata County.
Police said Apolinar was driving a 2013 Volkswagen Passat.
Driver uninjured after Susquehanna Trail crash
MIFFLINTOWN -- A New York man escaped injury after his pickup truck left the roadway and struck a traffic sign and utility pole at 5:30 a.m. Monday on Susquehanna Trail in Susquehanna Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown.
Police said Austin D. Pinney, 22, of Cuba, New York, was traveling south when his 2021 Ram left the roadway about 1 mile north of Hess Hill Road. The truck struck a traffic sign and then a PennDOT light pole.
Pinney was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. The truck sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
Police cited Pinney for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
Two suffer minor injuries in Route 322 crash
MIFFLINTOWN -- Two people suffered suspected minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 6:19 a.m. Sept. 3 on U.S. Route 322 east in Walker Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown.
Police said the crash occurred about 2 miles from the Thompsontown exit when a 2008 Toyota Corolla driven by Edward D. Castro Arias, 24, of Mifflintown, rear-ended a 2022 GMC Terrain driven by Kenneth O. Jackson, 70, of Philadelphia.
Both drivers suffered suspected minor injuries. Jackson was transported by Thompsontown Ambulance League to Geisinger Lewistown Hospital, while Castro Arias was not transported.
Police cited Castro Arias for following too closely. Thompsontown Fire and EMS, Gray's Towing and Geedey's Towing assisted at the scene.
