Pine Glen Church of the Brethren will not be having community meals until further notice. The church is having water issues. When we resolve this issue, I will put the notice in my column when it will be restarted.
In the morning worship at Pine Glen Church of Brethren, Sunday, September 27, 2026, a friendly welcome to each of you to our worship service today! May the Lord open your hearts and minds today and every day. Worship leader Pastor Connie Maclay welcomed everyone. The announcements were asked for. Jill Miller and Sonja Miller played the Prelude: "I Hear Him Calling," written by Beverly Goss. The joys and concerns were asked for. The congregation sang a prayer hymn, "Gentle Shepherd". The Worship Leader provided the Morning Prayer, followed by the Lord's Prayer and the Doxology. Jill Miller provided special music singing "Had It Not Been". Scripture was Matthew 21:23-32. Pastor Connie Maclay brought the morning message, "Is it too late?" The choral benediction was "I believe in you, Lord Jesus".
In the morning worship at McVeytown Presbyterian Church on September 27, 2026, the service started with sharing of the joy, followed by the Prelude. The call to Worship was heard. The congregation sang hymns, "On Jordan's stormy banks". Prayer was heard. The congregation sang the prayer hymn "Change my heart, O God". Pastoral Prayer was heard, followed by the Lord's Prayer. The congregation sang a hymn, "What a day that will be". Scripture was Isaiah 53:1-7. The artistic offering was the Men's Chorus singing "Blest be the tie that binds" and "Love divine, all loves excelling". Scripture was Romans 8:16-18, James 5:7-11, and John 16:30-33. The sermon was, "Why does God allow suffering?" The service continued with the call for the offering, followed by the Doxology and prayer of dedication. The congregation sang "It is well with my Soul". The benediction was given. A choral benediction was sung: "Amen". The postlude was played.
