It is time for the community meal again. Sept. 11, 2026, between 11:30 and 12:30, Pine Glen Church of the Brethren will resume serving meals. The menu is a grilled ham and cheese sandwich, homemade tomato soup, and dessert. Come out and enjoy a great meal and fellowship, as always eat-in only. ** Note ** NO ELEVATOR SERVICE TO THE MEAL **
The Pine Glen Church of the Brethren Kitchen Committee will hold a soup sale on Sept. 19, 2026. Pickup will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Soup will be Chicken Noodle and Ham & Bean, costing $10 per quart. The last day to order will be Sept. 13, 2026. Order by calling Pam Mattern at 717-899-7528 or Cindy Yoder at 717-513-3414.
On Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026, the Willing Workers met at the Mattawana Mennonite Church.
Church. Two comforters were knotted, and quilting was done. Enjoying a carry-in lunch were Darlene Kauffman, Ruthann Schooley, Melissa Motola, Helen Benner, Carol Laughlin, Tina Boaz, Kathy Breon, and Ruth Ann Fulton.
In the morning worship at Pine Glen Church of Brethren, Sunday, Sept. 06, 2026, a friendly welcome to each of you to our worship service today! May the Lord open your hearts and minds today and every day. Worship leader Josh Hill welcomed everyone. The announcements were asked for. Jill Miller played the Prelude, "As the Deer Panted". The joys and concerns were asked for. The congregation sang a prayer hymn, "My Faith Looks Up to Thee". The Worship Leader provided the Morning Prayer, followed by the Lord's Prayer and the Doxology. Kathi Miller and Paula Wray provided special music, singing "In the Garden" and "How Great Thou Art". Scripture was I John 1: 5 and 2: 2. Pastor Connie Maclay brought the morning message, "The good news: Getting on the right bus". The choral benediction was, "I believe in you, Lord Jesus."
In the morning worship at McVeytown Presbyterian Church on Sept. 06, 2026, the service started with the welcome and the sharing of the joy. The Prelude was played. Call to Worship was heard. The congregation sang hymns, "Rise Up, O Church of God." Prayer was heard. The congregation sang the prayer hymn "Change My Heart, O God". The Pastoral Prayer was heard, followed by the Lord's Prayer. The congregation sang a hymn, "The Gift of Love". Scripture was Psalm 119:33-40 and James 1:19-25. The sermon was, "Relationships are everything". Holy Communion was given today. The service continued with the call for the offering, followed by Doxology and prayer of dedication. The congregation sang, "Take my life and let it be consecrated". The benediction was given. The postlude was played.
