It is time for the Community Meal again. September 11, 2026, between 11:30 and 12:30, Pine Glen Church of the Brethren will resume serving meals. The menu is a grilled ham and cheese sandwich, homemade tomato soup, and dessert. Come out and enjoy a great meal and fellowship, as always eat-in only.
The Pine Glen Church of the Brethren Kitchen Committee will hold a soup sale on September 19, 2026. Pickup will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Soup will be Chicken Noodle and Ham & Bean, costing $10 per quart. The last day to order will be September 13, 2026. Order by calling Pam Mattern at 717-899-7528 or Cindy Yoder at 717-513-3414.
In the morning worship at Pine Glen Church of Brethren, Sunday, August 30, 2026, a friendly welcome to each of you to our worship service today! May the Lord open your hearts and minds today and every day. Worship leader Doug Snyder welcomed everyone. The announcements were asked for. Den Yoder played the Prelude, "Jesus is calling". The joys and concerns were asked for. The congregation sang a prayer hymn, "Dear Lord and Father of Mankind". The Worship Leader provided the Morning Prayer, followed by the Lord's Prayer and the Doxology. Special music was provided by "The 69ers" singing "Standing on the Solid Rock" (Den Yoder, Den Maxwell, Den McElwain, Lynn Reed, Sally Yoder, Jean McElwain, Susie McCarl and Sarah Esh. Scripture was from Matthew 16:21-28. Pastor Connie Maclay brought the morning message, "What would YOU think?" The choral benediction was "Thou true Vine, that heals."
In the morning worship at McVeytown Presbyterian Church on August 30, 2026, the service started with the welcome and the sharing of the joy. The Prelude was played. Call to Worship was heard. A "Back to School Blessing was given. The congregation sang hymns, "Love Divine, All Loves Excelling". Prayer was heard. The congregation sang the prayer hymn "Spirit of the Living God". The Pastoral Prayer was heard, followed by the Lord's Prayer. The congregation sang a hymn, "Take Time to be Holy". Scripture was John 6:35, 41-51 and Ephesians 4:25-32. The sermon was Follow Christ's example". The service continued with the call for the offering, followed by the Doxology and prayer of dedication. The congregation sang, "Lord, I want to be a Christian". The benediction was given. The postlude was played.
