Greetings to all readers this evening. Memories go back to six years ago when Gideon and Annie Peachey’s Aaron died. He was a special needs child, age 20. Memories linger of loved ones who died never to return in this sinful world.
North church was held at Noah and Fannie’s (eight) on Sunday and West church at Emanuel and Linda Kanag. This is the last week for the parents to have their helpers at home. The Amish schools will start on Monday the 14th.
Jacob A. Swarey was cutting some firewood last Tuesday evening and somehow the chainsaw kicked and cut his foot at the toe. He’s married to Sarah M. Swarey, daughter of David J. Mary. They had wanted to attend the Peachey/Byler wedding in Big Valley Pa last Thursday but couldn’t go as he was in the hospital.
I want to go to my cousin’s tomorrow again. John Julia had her daughters-in-law at home today, as they wanted to prepare the things for Chow Chow making tomorrow. Elizabeth and Katie used to can veggies and still have leftovers from last summer and store-bought veggies in tin cans too. So, the Swarey wants to use them up and divide the canned veggies among themselves. Then the girls will have more empty jars for chicken meat, tomato juice, etc. Well, it’s getting too dark to see at 8:10 p.m. without light.
Wednesday at 6 a.m. Hearing the crickets’ nice night music. The stars are shining too; it looks like it could be another nice day. We’re on the dry side, so a shower of rain would be welcome. Heard the pumpkins are ready a little earlier than other years.
Gideon and Linda Peachey and Noah and Barbara Kanagy were out in our area for 2 weeks. They went to their Pa’s home again and Noah Peights Nancy was out over Sunday when church was at her home. They left soon after midnight Sunday night so that Nancy will be in Big Valley at her school when it’s time to start. Hope you, all teachers and pupils, are enjoying being back in school. Much to be thankful for: having the privilege to learn new things, etc.
Here is the address for Jacob A. And Sarah Swarey’s 945 Johnson Rd. Jackson, Ohio 45640. They have a family of five; boy’s age from 5 years to 13. Their youngest, Ezra, was born in May 2022, a still born which was the 6th baby. So, I’m sure they enjoy hearing from others.
Eli and Hettie Yoder are buying a property along Glade Rd. Clouse to Route 776, so it will not be so far to go to the Variety Store. They want to build a new store building. Sarah A. Yoder, daughter of Albert and Sylvia, has a second-hand store, so she will use the old store that Eli and Hetie had. Guess changes are coming. Right now, she’s using the part that Isaac and Sarah Yoder had before they moved, if I have it straight. Which is Elizabeth’s wash house. Noah Kanagy got to see their first great-grandchild at Abram and Katie Peachey and Jacob Sr. and Mary had a baby, Jacob J. Jr., born on the 1st of Sept.
Well, it’s time to move on. Thoughts and prayers are with the sad and lonely. I just found out Sunday evening about the passing of John J. Sr. Byler Annie.
Ps. Almost forgot to write that Shem J. Swarey Sr. had an accident while cutting logs in the woods. Results are a broken bone, and he is using crutches. Address is 419 Magaw Rd. Beaver, OH. 45613. I don’t know the detail of how it happened.
