Food, rides and racing can only mean Juniata County Fair

PORT ROYAL - There's nothing quite like the food, the rides and the racing at the Juniata County Fair, which opens Saturday at the Juniata County Fairgrounds in Port Royal.
The 172nd edition of the fair runs through Sept. 12. The Juniata County Fair is dedicated to preserving and promoting agriculture while providing educational, social, cultural and economic opportunities for the community. It creates a fun, family-friendly environment where traditions thrive and memories are made.
It's also filled with racing action, including the fair opener on Saturday with the Butch Renninger Memorial; and the 75th Annual Labor Day Classic/Lynn Paxton Tribute Race on Monday, Sept. 7.
Rocky Ridge Ranch Rodeo
Gates open at 5 p.m. with a kids rodeo at 6 p.m. and a show at 7 p.m. at Rocky Ridge Ranch, 4357 Ferguson Valley Road, McVeytown.
Burnham Community Day
Celebrate America's 250th birthday with festivities, food and community booths, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Beech Street, Burnham.
Clash of the Axemen
Lumberjack athletes compete in thrilling events including axe throwing, chopping, sawing, speed climbing and more. Starts at noon Saturday at East Broad Top Railroad, 421 Meadow St., Rockhill.
