Familiar face returns to Downtown Lewistown

LEWISTOWN -- A fresh new face for a downtown Lewistown hotspot. Laskaris has been around since 1921 but was slowly disappearing into the background with all of the fresh new businesses popping up downtown.
However, a few months ago one local man was interested in the rental properties attached to Laskaris, but when opportunity presents itself it's hard to say no to being a part of something special. So when the restaurant known for the best hot dogs in town was also on the table to be purchased, Ryan Reichenbach and his wife couldn't say no. They made it their goal to simply give Laskaris a facelift and not change much about the inside. From the original bar and cabinets behind it to the booths and puzzle art on the walls, Laskaris is like stepping back into a time machine.
Reichenbach owns a real estate business and admittedly never ran a food business before, but said most of his employees have. The original cook the regulars know and love, as well as some new faces, will be around the diner serving up diner favorites from hot dogs and fresh‑cut fries to cheeseburgers and pork barbecue. Soups, salads, chicken tenders and, of course, you can't leave without trying their famous rice pudding for dessert.
Reichenbach mentions JP Edwards' very own Mondo, who will be the honorary "hot dog man."
Hot dog options will still be the famous secret sauce with onions and mustard, as well as plain and cheese, and Mondo will be inventing his own specialty creations.
Hours will be from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
They are currently looking for dishwashers, runners and line cooks.
