The Sentinel offers nonprofit and other community organizations an opportunity to promote upcoming events for free in the community calendar for three days before the event. Events requiring reservations may be promoted for up to two weeks before the reservation deadline.

Events that require a purchase from a for-profit business, even if a donation is made to the organization, are not eligible for the calendar.

Please be brief and include only basic details. If possible, provide a phone number or email address to be published with contact information.

Brown St., P.O. Box 588 Lewistown, PA 17044. The editor reserves the right to edit all submissions.

•Mifflin County Historical Society fall banquet -- 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 17, Lewistown Country Club. Cost of $35 for members/$40 for non-members includes buffet dinner, cash bar, 50/50 drawing and raffle for 250th wall hanging. The event includes "The Monkees From A Fan's Perspective" presentation by super fan Fred Velez. To expedite check-in at the banquet, reservations must be paid in advance.

Tuesday, Sept. 8

•LHS Class of 1954 luncheon -- 11:30 a.m., Sal-lee's Dream, Strodes Mills.

•CLHS Class of 1965 luncheon -- 11:30 a.m., Downtown OIP, Lewistown, Classmates, spouses and guests are welcome.

•Creative Minds Night -- 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Mifflin County Library, Lewistown. Adults ages 18 and up are welcome to hear author Annette Dashofy as she shares her writing journey via zoom.

•Towpath Naturalist Society meeting -- 7 p.m., St. John’s Lutheran Church fellowship hall, 120 N. Main St., Lewistown (rear entrance). "Grousing About Woodcock," Clay Lutz, Pa. Game Commission. Visitors and new members are welcome.

Wednesday, Sept. 9

•LHS Class of 1956 luncheon -- noon, Vince's Pizza and Family Restaurant, Burnham.

Thursday, Sept. 10

•Kish Class of 1966 ladies' luncheon -- 11:15 a.m., Bel-Vue Inn, Reedsville.
