Argument leads to harassment citation
McVEYTOWN -- A 51-year-old McVeytown woman was cited for harassment following an incident July 12 in Wayne Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown.
Police said they responded at about 2:33 a.m. to U.S. Highway 522 South for an argument that turned physical between the woman and a 48-year-old Mapleton Depot woman. A citation was filed.
Traffic checkpoint leads to drug charge
MIFFLINTOWN -- A 38-year-old Mifflintown woman faces charges following a traffic stop Aug. 25 in Fermanagh Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown.
Police said a traffic safety checkpoint resulted in a stop at about 2:02 p.m. near 1929 William Penn Highway. Police identified Tracy Celce as the person charged and listed the incident as drug possession. The release also references DUI in connection with the stop.
Man charged in theft at ONVO
MIFFLINTOWN -- A Michigan man faces charges after state police investigated the theft of diesel fuel and cash from ONVO in Fermanagh Township.
Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown said the incident occurred at about 1:42 p.m. Aug. 26 at the business at 9 Stop Plaza Drive.
Police identified Gregory Stanlake, 69, of Almont, Michigan, as the person charged. Approximately $300.05 worth of diesel fuel and $49.95 in cash were reported stolen.
Three charged following Decatur Township fight
McCLURE -- Three men face simple assault charges following a fight Aug. 31 in Decatur Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown.
Police said they responded at about 11:45 p.m. to 10 Shindle Mountain Road.
Police identified Mason Bulick, 18, of McClure; Isaac Specht, 20, of McClure; and Michael Snook, 18, of Lewistown, as the individuals charged. Tanner Rhine, 20, of McClure, was identified as the victim.
Teen charged with harassment
MILROY -- A 16-year-old Milroy girl was charged with harassment following a domestic incident Sunday in Armagh Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown.
Police said they responded at about 9:17 a.m. to 9 Broad St. for an inactive domestic incident involving the teen and a 46-year-old Milroy man.
Charges were filed through Magisterial District Judge 58-3-03.
No injuries reported in Port Royal crash
PORT ROYAL -- No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash Sunday at the intersection of Market Street and Town Lane in Port Royal, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown.
Police said a 2008 Dodge Avenger driven by Ethan Goss, 34, of Port Royal, had stopped at a stop sign before proceeding into the path of a 2006 Nissan Xterra driven by a 16-year-old Port Royal girl at about 3:43 p.m. The teen was unable to avoid the collision and struck the Dodge, police said.
A 10-year-old Port Royal girl was a passenger in the Dodge. None of the three occupants was injured.
Police said Goss was cited for duties at a stop sign.
Tractor-trailer strikes runaway truck ramp
MILROY -- A New York man escaped injury after the tractor-trailer he was driving struck the runaway truck ramp along U.S. Highway 322 in Armagh Township early Sunday, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown.
Police said Gurdeep Singh, 32, of South Richmond Hill, New York, was traveling east on Route 322 at about 1:32 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve at a high rate of speed. The 2023 Freightliner Cascadia left the roadway and struck the stone runaway truck ramp approximately 4 miles from the Milroy exit.
The truck sustained disabling damage and was towed. Singh, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured.
Police said Singh was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic. Milroy Fire Co., Milroy EMS and Bowersox Towing assisted at the scene.
Milroy man cited for public drunkenness
REEDSVILLE -- A Milroy man was cited for public drunkenness after state police said they found him walking in the middle of the road early Sunday.
Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown said troopers encountered Tristain Barner, 24, while on routine patrol in the 200 block of Manns Narrows at about 3:15 a.m.
Police said troopers stopped to check on Barner’s welfare, at which point he allegedly became belligerent and began yelling obscenities at them. Police said they determined Barner was under the influence of alcohol.
Barner was taken into custody and transported to the Mifflin County Correctional Facility. He was cited through district court.
