Zeropoint Big Band to close South Hills Music Picnic Series

STATE COLLEGE -- South Hills School of Business & Technology will wrap up its 2026 Music Picnic Series with a free outdoor performance by the Zeropoint Big Band on Sunday, Aug. 30.
The 16-piece big band will perform from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the north lawn of the South Hills main campus, 480 Waupelani Drive, State College. The grounds will open at 4 p.m.
Zeropoint Big Band has performed throughout central Pennsylvania since 2009, offering a mix of traditional big band jazz and arrangements of more contemporary music.
The group’s repertoire includes classics associated with Count Basie, Buddy Rich, Thad Jones and Duke Ellington, along with reimagined rock songs by Queen, The Who, U2 and The Beatles.
The concert is the final performance in South Hills’ free summer Music Picnic Series. The outdoor event will be held rain or shine, and those attending are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs.
Dogs on the Run hot dog cart will be on site offering hot dogs and snacks. Free parking and restrooms will also be available.
