CENTRE HALL -- A Richfield man was killed early Wednesday in a crash involving a tractor-trailer in Centre County, according to the Centre County Coroner's Office.
Centre County Coroner Scott Sayers identified the victim as Ardell W. Wadel, 19, of Richfield. Sayers said Wadel died from traumatic injuries sustained in the crash and ruled the death accidental.
The crash occurred in the 3200 block of General Potter Highway (Route 322) in Potter Township. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene after reports of a collision involving a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer.
Despite lifesaving efforts, Wadel was pronounced dead at the scene.
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the crash. Authorities have not released additional information regarding how the collision occurred, the identity or condition of the tractor-trailer driver, or whether speed, impairment or weather contributed to the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
