Thompsontown man arrested for multiple warrants

LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown Police Department officers stopped a vehicle on Lehigh Alley in Lewistown after it made evasive maneuvers at 2:37 p.m. on Aug. 13, 2026, according to a release issued on Thursday. A rear passenger gave a false name, but officers identified him through facial recognition as Stephen T. Dressler, 35, of Thompsontown, was taken into custody for multiple arrest warrants and lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown.

Citation pending after road rage incident in Lewistown

LEWISTOWN -- Two unidentified drivers confronted each another motorist after a turn signal on East Water Street at 3:21 p.m. on Aug. 13, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. The suspect followed the reporting party to a vape shop, asked if they wanted to "play that game," then punched them repeatedly in the head. The victim refused medical treatment. Police obtained a photo of the suspect's vehicle and plan to file a harassment citation.

Lewistown woman cited for disorderly conduct

LEWISTOWN -- An unidentified resident trimming grass on North Grand Street in Lewistown reported an aggressive dog in a neighboring yard at 6:04 p.m. on Aug. 13, according to according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. After the resident spoke to the neighbor, the neighbor threw water on them from a second-floor balcony. Officers found the resident's shirt wet and identified the neighbor, a 21-year-old Lewistown woman, who was cited for disorderly conduct.

Lewistown man arrested for multiple warrants

LEWISTOWN -- Christopher A. Kearns, 29, of Lewistown, was seen walking on Chestnut Street in Lewistown at 11:28 a.m. on Aug. 17, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. Kearns entered an apartment before officers could stop him but later exited and was taken into custody for four local warrants and additional warrants from Perry and Cumberland counties. A used marijuana pipe was found in plain view. Kearns was lodged in Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Delivery driver files fake currency complaint

LEWISTOWN -- An unidentified subject used a fake $100 bill to pay for a pizza order on South Main Street in Lewistown at 3:39 p.m. on Aug. 17, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. The suspect told the delivery driver it was a misunderstanding and agreed to repay the debt. Police are not pursuing criminal charges at this time.

Lewistown man arrested on warrant

LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown Police Department officers stopped Eric D. Shilling Jr., 25, of Lewistown, on Logan Street in Lewistown for an active warrant at 8:04 p.m. on Aug. 17, according to a release issued on Thursday. During a search, officers found an opioid pill he was not prescribed. Shilling was lodged in Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Derry Township woman charged with drug paraphernalia

LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown Police Department officers stopped Jasmine A. Wagner, 30, of Derry Township, on South Main Street in Lewistown for lighting violations at 9:18 a.m. on Aug. 18, according to a release issued on Thursday. Wagner's license was suspended and her inspection expired in 2023. Officers saw a marijuana grinder in plain view and found a glass bong and marijuana packaging. Wagner was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a small amount of marijuana and summary traffic offenses.

Escaped dog struck and killed in roadway

LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown Police Department officers responded to East Third Street in Lewistown for a dog struck by a vehicle whose driver did not stop at 12:07 p.m. on Aug. 18, according to a release issued on Thursday. Rescue Our Furry Friends transported the dog to a veterinarian, but it died. An elderly driver, who was not identified, told police the dog ran between vehicles and they could not stop safely. The dog had escaped from a third-party caregiver.

Union Township man arrested on PFA violation

LEWISTOWN -- A 50-year-old Union Township man was arrested and charged with indirect criminal contempt at 1:53 p.m. on Aug. 18 after a protected person reported hearing Cook call out to them on Chester Alley in Lewistown, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. Cook then followed the person into the Mifflin County Courthouse. The PFA order, issued May 19, prohibits all contact. Cook, who had violated the order days earlier, told officers he was "just trying to say hello."

Lewistown man charged with furnishing drug-free urine

LEWISTOWN -- Mifflin County Probation reported that Randy L. Williams, 59, of Lewistown, attempted to pass drug-free urine concealed in a toothpaste container at 8:27 a.m. on Aug. 19, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. Williams is being charged with furnishing drug-free urine.

Peffer cited for retail theft after grocery store incident

LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown Police Department officers responded to a grocery retailer on South Dorcas Street in Lewistown for an alleged theft at 4:31 p.m. on Aug. 19, according to a release issued on Thursday. Video showed Clifford H. Peffer Jr., 81, of Derry Township, taking multiple packs of soda and leaving without paying. Officers located Peffer walking home. He first claimed he thought the items were free, then admitted he knew it was wrong. Peffer was cited for retail theft.
