Counterfeit $100 bill used at travel plaza
MIFFLINTOWN -- Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown are investigating the use of a counterfeit $100 bill at the Onvo Travel Plaza on Stop Plaza Drive in Fermanagh Township.
Police said the counterfeit bill was used at about 8:39 p.m. July 29. The incident is being investigated as theft by deception, and the investigation is ongoing.
Vehicle strikes house in Greenwood Township
MILLERSTOWN -- A Millerstown woman was cited after her vehicle traveled off Goodville Road and struck a residence July 30, according to Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown.
Police said Charity S. Swartz, 49, was traveling west at about 7:02 a.m. when her vehicle crossed the eastbound lane, left the roadway, struck a road sign and utility pole, traveled down an embankment and struck a residence at 3762 Goodville Road in Greenwood Township.
Swartz was not injured. Her vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. She was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
McVeytown man injured in crash
McVEYTOWN -- An 81-year-old McVeytown man suffered suspected minor injuries in a single-vehicle crash Aug. 4 in Wayne Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown.
Police said Norman E. Clark Jr. was traveling east on Walnut Street at about 1:53 a.m. and was attempting to turn right onto Parsons Road when he was traveling too fast for the turn. His vehicle left the roadway and struck a ditch.
Clark was transported by Mount Union Ambulance. His vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Police cited Clark for driving at a safe speed. Mount Union Fire and EMS and Newton Hamilton Fire
