State police investigate identity theft
MOUNT UNION -- Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an identity theft reported Aug. 9 on Juniata Avenue in Huntingdon County. Police said a 63-year-old Huntingdon woman reported losing $700 in the incident.
Reported burglary determined unfounded
McCLURE -- Pennsylvania State Police determined that a reported commercial burglary at McClure Commons on Bubb Street was unfounded. Police investigated the report, which stemmed from an Aug. 8 incident, and concluded no burglary had occurred.
Woman charged after vehicle vandalized in Juniata County
McALISTERVILLE -- Pennsylvania State Police charged a 35-year-old McAlisterville woman after a vehicle was vandalized during an incident on Westfall Street early Aug. 9. Police allege the woman entered the garage of her estranged husband's residence, poured gasoline throughout the interior of a 2015 Jeep Cherokee, slashed three tires, scratched the paint, stabbed the seats and damaged the windshield. Damage to the vehicle, which belonged to the husband's cousin, was estimated at more than $6,000. Charges were filed through district court.
Harassment complaint
investigated in Juniata County
MIFFLINTOWN -- Pennsylvania State Police responded to a harassment complaint on Route 333 at 10:26 p.m. Aug. 5. The victim is a 24-year-old McAlisterville woman. No additional information was released.
One injured in Route 522 crash
MILROY -- A 70-year-old Mount Union woman suffered suspected serious injuries in a one-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 522 at Alfarata Road on Aug. 8. According to Pennsylvania State Police, the woman's Jeep Grand Cherokee left the roadway for unknown reasons, traveled down an embankment, struck trees, sideswiped a utility pole, crossed a paved driveway, hit another embankment and overturned before coming to rest against a guide rail. She was freed from the vehicle, transported by FAME EMS to Geisinger Lewistown Hospital and later flown to Holy Spirit Medical Center. Police issued the driver a written warning.
Port Royal man faces DUI charge
PORT ROYAL -- A 64-year-old Port Royal man is facing DUI charges after Pennsylvania State Police responded to a report of an intoxicated man at the Mifflintown Rutters shortly after midnight Aug. 9. Police said the man had driven to the business and was stumbling inside. Troopers determined he was under the influence of alcohol. Charges are pending through Magisterial District Judge 41-3-02.
