Truck overturns after snagging low-hanging wire
PORT ROYAL -- A box truck overturned after catching a low-hanging wire on Reservoir Road in Juniata County, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Police said the crash occurred at 1:08 p.m. July 30 as a 2023 GMC Savana was traveling south on Reservoir Road. The driver attempted to pass beneath a low-hanging wire, but the top right corner of the truck caught the wire, causing the vehicle to overturn.
The driver was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. Police said the wire was later cut by firefighters to reopen the roadway. According to the report, the fire department advised that Brightspeed had previously been notified about the low-hanging wire.
State police seek owner of utility wire boxes
MIFFLINTOWN -- Pennsylvania State Police are seeking the owner of six utility wire boxes found along Industrial Park Road in Juniata County.
Police said the boxes were discovered around 7:30 a.m. Aug. 4 in the roadway on Industrial Park Road near the U.S. 322 overpass. The boxes were taken to the Lewistown station and entered into evidence.
Anyone who can provide proof of ownership may claim the property at the Lewistown station.
