Drug sale complaint at local convenience store

LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown Police Department officers received a complaint from a local convenience store on South Main Street in Lewistown after two men were seen meeting inside the store and conducting what appeared to be a pill sale at 12:29 p.m. on July 23, according to a release issued on Thursday. Video confirmed the exchange. One man, Steven A. Ferricks, was identified and found to have an active state parole warrant for absconding supervision related to a prior felony drug delivery conviction. Investigators later conducted surveillance at a location where Ferricks was believed to be staying.

Driver with warrants arrested

LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown Police Department officers stopped a vehicle registered to Douglas Klugh, age 61, of Middleburg, who had a DUI-suspended license and two active warrants at 2:19 a.m. on July 25. Klugh was taken into custody and lodged in Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown. Additional charges are pending receipt of his certified driving record.

Juvenile charged after kicking in door

LEWISTOWN -- An underaged juvenile, identified only as a 15-year-old, damaged door at a at a Chestnut Street Extended residence, according to Lewistown Police Department officers who were dispatched at 11:34 p.m. on July 25. A release was issued on Thursday. Video showed a juvenile kicking the door, splitting the frame and damaging interior trim. The juvenile will be charged with criminal mischief pending a damage estimate.

Woman charged after entering condemned residence

LEWISTOWN -- Michelle Valentin, 34, of Lewistown, was found by Lewistown Police Department officers inside a condemned Chestnut Street Extended home in Lewistown with her children and animals at 3:23 p.m. on July 23, according to a release issued on Thursday. She admitted removing posted condemnation notices and was charged with defiant trespass and ordered to vacate.

Juveniles stole food and toys from Giant

LEWISTOWN -- Three females stole $90 worth of items, including food and $60 in "dumpling" toys, from a grocery store located on South Dorcas Street in Lewistown at 7:49 p.m. on July 26, according to a release issued on Thursday. Video helped officers identify two suspects, ages 12 and 16. Police are working to identify the third.

Woman charged after drug items found in apartment

LEWISTOWN -- Police encountered Ashley Beschorner, 39, of Lewistown, and saw a marijuana pipe in her pocket at 8:58 p.m. on July 26, according to a release issued on Thursday. She consented to a search of her apartment, where officers found drug packaging materials and a scale with meth residue. She was detained for a probation violation and charged with drug paraphernalia possession.

Assault victim declines charges; drugs seized

LEWISTOWN -- Officers followed a blood trail to a Logan Street residence in Lewistown after an assault at 2:56 a.m. on July 27, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. The victim later said he told the other man to "give him his best shot" and refused prosecution. Police found marijuana and paraphernalia belonging to Mark Snyder, 47, of Lewistown, who was charged. Codes enforcement is addressing the nuisance property.

Woman cited after panic episode linked to drug use

LEWISTOWN -- A unidentified 26-year-old Lewistown woman who initially reported being followed later admitted to smoking marijuana and showed signs of impairment on the 100 block of Chestnut Street in Lewistown at 11:42 a.m. on July 27, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. She was transported for evaluation and cited for public drunkenness.

Woman charged with animal neglect

LEWISTOWN -- Police investigated a complaint that a dog was left tied outside without food, water or shelter at 4:29 p.m. on July 27, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department. Autume Crawley, 25, of Lewistown, was uncooperative and is being charged with animal neglect.

Man with warrant arrested at retail store

LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown Police Department officers located Andrew W. Rice, 33, of Lewistown, who had a prothonotary warrant, after spotting him near Green Gables, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. He was taken into custody at another retailer and lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown.

Man with drug warrant arrested after disturbance

LEWISTOWN -- Police responded to a dispute involving thrown flowers. While there, they encountered Shawn Freed, 50, of Union Township, who had an active bench warrant . He resisted briefly before being taken into custody at 1:58 a.m. on July 29, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday.

Dirt bike riders flee police officers

LEWISTOWN -- Three young males on unregistered dirt bikes fled at high speed after Lewistown Police Department officers attempted a stop them at 2:40 p.m. on July 29. They rode through yards and down one-way streets, according to a release issued on Thursday. Police are reviewing video to identify them.

Two charged after drugs found in Walnut Street home

LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown Police Department officers responded to an alleged assault complaint and saw meth and marijuana paraphernalia in plain view at 6:38 p.m. on July 29, according to a release issued on Thursday. A search warrant led to the seizure of a large quantity of drugs and paraphernalia. Draven Ciccolini, 24, of Lewistown, and Shannon Wolfley, 42, of Lewistown, were charged.
