EAST WATERFORD -- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has placed a radar-controlled speed display board along Route 75 in Lack Township in an effort to remind motorists to slow down.
The board, installed this week, faces northbound traffic between Blairs Mills Road and Brick Church Road, where the posted speed limit is 55 mph.
The device uses radar to detect the speed of approaching vehicles and displays the speed on a lighted sign. PennDOT said the board will remain at the location for four to six weeks.
The department said the display is intended to encourage motorists to obey the posted speed limit and reduce speeding, which is considered a form of aggressive driving.
Other aggressive driving behaviors include running stop signs or red lights, illegal passing and tailgating.
According to PennDOT, aggressive driving behaviors were a factor in 42% of crashes in Juniata County in 2025.
