Free community shred day set in Burnham
BURNHAM -- PA Central Federal Credit Union will host a free Community Shred Day from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in the Juniata Valley YMCA parking lot, 105 First St., Burnham.
Community members may bring old documents for safe, secure, on-site shredding. Monetary donations will be accepted to benefit Mother Hubbard's Cupboard.
The shred truck will be located in the YMCA parking lot next to the PA Central Federal Credit Union Burnham branch.
Neuro Wellness Resource Fair set in Lewisburg
LEWISBURG -- The Neuro Wellness Resource Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Lewisburg YMCA at The Miller Center.
The free event is intended for people living with Parkinson's disease and other neurological or movement disorders, as well as their families, caregivers and care partners.
Attendees will have opportunities to meet health care and wellness professionals, learn about local resources and research, participate in activity and exercise demonstrations and explore programs designed to help manage symptoms, support independence and promote healthy living.
The event is being presented in partnership with PMD Alliance.
Registration is required and may be completed through the Greater Susquehanna Valley YMCA website, by calling (570) 556-4191 or in person at the Lewisburg YMCA front desk.
Marysville bar cited for expired license
MARYSVILLE -- A Perry County establishment was cited by the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement during August.
Waterfront Bar and Grill LLC, 13 S. Main St., Marysville, was cited for allegedly selling alcoholic beverages after its health permit or license expired June 21 and had not been renewed or validated, according to police.
The alleged violation involved Section 437 of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code and Section 5.41 of the Liquor Control Board Regulations.
