Donations boost Juniata County athletic facilities

MIFFLINTOWN -- Two Juniata County high school athletic venues stand to benefit from the receipt of donations made by sports boosters and the PIAA District 4.
The Juniata County School District's Board of Directors approved accepting the donation of items and services from the Juniata Touchdown Club, for Dietrick Field: play clocks and stands, including power source, drink cooler, scoreboard improvements, and an inflatable football tunnel at its regular monthly meeting at the administration building on Thursday.
District 4 also donated shot clocks to be installed in the East Juniata High School gymnasium.
Facility use requests
The school board approved facility use requests from:
Justin and Katelyn Frontz, Tom Feltman and Stephanie Wagner, of East Juniata Elementary Basketball, for the East Juniata Elementary School gymnasium, as available from June 2026 through May 2027 for practices and scrimmages, at no fee;
Amber Supplee, of Juniata girls volleyball, Juniata High School gymnasium, Alumni/Varsity Game fundraiser, July 11, custodial costs only;
Ellie Shepps, of Juniata girls soccer, Juniata Elementary School soccer field, youth soccer camp, July 20-22, at no fee;
Daniel Stump, of Richfield Community Center, East Juniata Elementary School grounds, parade participant use, July 25, at no fee;
Rodney Brandt, of McAlisterville men's baseball team, East Juniata High School baseball field, practices and games, July and August 2026, at no fee;

The school board approved contracts and agreements with:
Tuscarora Intermediate Unit 11 for the provision of instructional media services;
Central Penn Education Associates, Inc. for the provision of psychoeducational evaluations;
Mifflin County School District for the provision of Title I services to Sacred Heart of Jesus School students from Juniata County;
Pyramid Healthcare, Inc. for the provision of educational services to Juniata County School District students;
Clear Concepts Counseling for the provision of student assistance program services;
Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. for the provision of student assistance program services;
mOTivation Occupational Therapy, LLC for the provision of occupational therapy-related services;
Memorandum of Understanding with district's 93 Administrative Team;
Shippensburg University in regard to placement of students in field study programs, internships, practicums or student teaching.
Information: Brooklyn Devinney will serve as a student intern at East Juniata Elementary School for the 2026-27 school year, rather than at East Juniata High School, as incorrectly indicated on the June 2026 board meeting agenda.
