WILLIAMSPORT -- An inmate at United States Penitentiary Allenwood has been indicted on federal charges alleging he threatened to assault and kill multiple Bureau of Prisons employees.
Robert Foust, 42, was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of threatening federal officers, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
U.S. Attorney Brian D. Miller said the indictment alleges Foust made the threats on Aug. 5 and Nov. 6, 2025, while incarcerated at USP Allenwood.
The alleged threats targeted multiple Bureau of Prisons employees, including a corrections officer, corrections counselor and prison physician, all of whom were performing their official duties at the time, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
The case was investigated by the FBI and Federal Bureau of Prisons. Assistant U.S. Attorney Geoffrey W. MacArthur is prosecuting the case.
If convicted, Foust faces a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison, a term of supervised release and a fine. Any sentence would be determined by a federal judge after consideration of federal sentencing statutes and guidelines.
An indictment contains allegations, and Foust is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
