MIFFLINTOWN — For decades, the Juniata County Veterans Council has been one of the county’s strongest anchors of service and remembrance. Its volunteers are the ones who make sure flags are placed, ceremonies are held and local veterans are honored in ways that feel personal, not perfunctory.
The Veterans Queen program is part of that tradition, offering a moment each fall when the community gathers to celebrate service, leadership and the next generation of young women who want to make a difference.
This year, seven candidates will compete for the title of 2026 Juniata County Veterans Queen. The winner will receive a $3,000 scholarship, the first runner-up will receive a $2,000 scholarship and the second runner-up will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
