Road work planned across Juniata County

From staff reports

MIFFLINTOWN — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has released its maintenance schedule for Juniata County for the week of July 6.

Motorists should expect lane restrictions, flagging operations and possible pilot vehicles at several work sites throughout the county. All work is weather permitting.

Bridge maintenance and cleaning will continue on Route 2028 (Goodville Road) at the bridge spanning Dutchman Run, about five miles east of Salem. A detour remains in place using routes 235, 333 and 2017 (Evendale Hill Road).

Pipe replacement and cleaning is scheduled on Route 3030 (Spruce Hill Road) between Creek Road and Route 75 in Spruce Hill Township from Monday through Friday. Flaggers will direct traffic during daylight hours, and a pilot vehicle may be used. Drivers should remain behind pilot vehicles displaying a “Pilot Car Follow Me” sign and flashing yellow light.

• Shoulder maintenance is also planned on several Milford Township roadways:

• Route 4002 (Licking Creek Drive/Licking Street), Monday through Wednesday.

• Route 4001 (Muddy Run Road), Thursday.

• Route 4003 (Stetler Road), Friday.

Traffic will be controlled by flaggers during daylight hours, and pilot vehicles may be used as needed.

PennDOT said the work is part of its ongoing maintenance program to preserve roadway infrastructure, improve drainage and extend the service life of roads and bridges.

The schedule is subject to change because of weather, emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances.

Starting at $3.75/week.
