Unconscious scooter rider crashes twice

LEWISTOWN -- An unidentified 30-year-old area man was found unresponsive on North Grand Street in Lewistown after a recent scooter crash at 8:53 a.m. on July 16, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. Narcan had no effect, he briefly lost his pulse and EMS revived him. He repeatedly stood up then collapsed, refused treatment and left on his scooter. He crashed again on West Fifth Street, was found unresponsive with a head wound and was transported to the hospital. Police said a social-media rumor that his eye "fell out" is false.

Area man cited for public drunkenness

LEWISTOWN -- An unidentified 51-year-old area man was found stumbling after drinking 10 beers at 12:08 a.m. on July 17, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. His breath test was more than twice the legal limit. He was released to a residence and cited.

Lewistown man charged with disorderly conduct

LEWISTOWN -- Adam J. Swisher, 28, of Lewistown, returned intoxicated to a residence, punched a window and threatened officers and family at 11:58 a.m. on July 18, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. He refused hospital treatment and was lodged at Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown, cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

Area resident falls victim to Publisher's Clearing House scam

LEWISTOWN -- A resident sent a small payment to a scammer who then attempted to obtain $900 and appeared to access the resident's phone at 1:16 p.m. on July 18, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. Police provided guidance on securing the device.

Teenager cited for underage drinking

LEWISTOWN -- A parent reported their 15-year-old returned home intoxicated at 11:40 p.m. on July 18, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. The juvenile refused to say where the alcohol came from and was cited.

Criminal mischief as feces smeared on apartment door

LEWISTOWN -- Someone smeared feces on a door at an apartment complex on the first block of Valley Street, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. Police interviewed a person of interest but could not identify a suspect.

Suspected DUI results pending toxicology

LEWISTOWN -- An unidentified 57-year-old Granville man drove without headlights, failed to stop promptly and showed signs of impairment while traveling through Lewistown at 8:57 p.m. on July 20, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. Police said his breath test was well over the limit. He was arrested, taken for blood testing, and released pending toxicology.

Police investigate homeless veteran at grocery store

LEWISTOWN -- A homeless veteran was found sleeping in his car with a loaded handgun, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. He was not impaired, refused services, and the legally-owned firearm was returned.

Hit-and-run incident at LUMINA Center

LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown Police Department officers investigated damage at 8:51 a.m. on July 21, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. The damage to the to a door appeared to be from a vehicle backing into it. The incident is under investigation.

Area man charged with stealing cigarettes

LEWISTOWN -- James L. Hamby Jr., 49, unknown address) took two packs of cigars after his card was declined at 12:08 p.m. on July 21, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. He has one prior theft conviction. Charges were filed for misdemeanor retail theft.

Derry Township man arrested for active warrant

LEWISTOWN -- Officers located and detained John J. Stewart III, 43, of Derry Township, at 7:43 p.m. on July 21, who had an active warrant, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday

Charges for drug paraphernalia filed

LEWISTOWN -- Thomas Fisher, 27, Brown Township, was stopped after suspicious driving at 1:41 a.m. at July 22, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Thursday. He consented to a search, and officers found paraphernalia with cocaine residue. He was not impaired. Charges for possession of paraphernalia are being filed.
