Crews to perform roadwork across Juniata County
From staff reports
MIFFLINTOWN — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced its maintenance schedule for Juniata County for the week of July 13.
Motorists should expect daylight lane restrictions with flaggers and, at times, pilot vehicles at several work zones. Drivers are reminded to remain behind pilot vehicles and not pass until they have exited the work area.
Scheduled work includes:
• Route 3030 (Spruce Hill Road) near the intersection with Route 75 in Spruce Hill Township on Monday for pipe replacement and cleaning.
• Route 3015 (Academy Road) about one-tenth mile north of Route 3008 (Groninger Valley Road) in Beale Township on Tuesday for pipe replacement and cleaning.
• Route 3019 (Indian Mound Road) between Barton Hill Road and Ebenezer Church Road in Spruce Hill Township from Wednesday through Friday for pipe replacement and cleaning.
PennDOT said pipe replacement and cleaning help maintain proper drainage around state highways, reducing pavement deterioration and extending the life of the roadway.
Shoulder maintenance is also scheduled Monday through Friday on:
• Route 333 between the village of Hawstone in Milford Township and Mifflin Borough.
• Route 333 between Route 35 in Milford Township and Court Lane in Port Royal Borough.
According to PennDOT, shoulder maintenance improves drainage, eliminates shoulder drop-offs and helps prevent pavement damage and winter icing caused by standing water.
All work is weather permitting.
