LEWISTOWN -- Mifflin County Commissioners will hold a public hearing Aug. 6 on a proposed amendment establishing requirements for data center development under the county's subdivision and land development ordinance.

The hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. in meeting room A on the second floor of the Mifflin County Courthouse, 20 N. Wayne St., Lewistown.

Commissioners will provide information about the proposed ordinance and accept public comment. They are expected to consider adopting the measure during their regularly scheduled meeting following the hearing.

The proposal would add a section covering data centers to the Mifflin County Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance. It includes definitions, specific use criteria, decommissioning requirements and provisions for administration and enforcement.

A copy of the proposed ordinance is available at the Mifflin County Planning and Development Department on the second floor of the courthouse and on the county's website.
