Babe Ruth fundraisers highlight weekend slate

LEWISTOWN -- Who doesn't like cruising around town, riding in a shiny set of wheels? That's exactly what you can have Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., by attending a car wash fundraiser.
Hosted by EZ Auto, located at 101 S. Logan Blvd., Burnham, the Mifflin County 15-16-year-old Babe Ruth All-Stars are raising money to play in the upcoming World Series in Branson, Mo., in August.
Mifflin County recently won the Mid-Atlantic Regionals and now are headed to the big show. Donations are greatly appreciated and help them make their way to the World Series, to be played on Aug. 5-16.
Benefit food truck event
A Food Truck Event will also be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday to support the Mifflin County All-Stars in the Verizon/Ollie's parking lot in Burnham. Enjoy bites from Solid Gold Concessions, Sinister Mini Donuts and Twin Kiss. Plus, come and meet the players that will be representing Mifflin County.
Murder mystery dinner theater on stage
You're invited to an evening of Murder Mystery Dinner Theater on Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bethel AME Church, 23 N. Juniata St., Lewistown. Step into a world mystery, intrigue and unexpected twists as you enjoy a delicious dinner and help solve a thrilling crime. The cost is $20 per ticket. Proceeds benefit the Global Outreach Ministries at the church.
Car hop in East Waterford

Dash & Splash 5K Run/Walk on slate
The Central Juniata Park Pool in Mifflin is having its first Dash and Splash 5K Run/Walk on Saturday. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. with the 5K stepping off at 8:30 a.m. To register, call (717) 436-6371.

• Annual Calvary Bible Church Community Carnival, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday , Rec Park, Lewistown. Join them for games, activities and food. Also, they will be doing a school supply giveaway away. Admission is free.
• Belleville Fireman's Festival, through Saturday, Belleville. Highlights include: Shallow Night with live entertainment on Thursday; Chicken barbecue and Chris Woodward and Shindiggin with live entertainment on Friday; and Chicken corn soup, 5 p.m. parade and Velvetta with live entertainment.
• Fayette Community Carnival, through Saturday, 137 School St., McAlisterville. This year's theme is celebrating America's 250th. Great food, rides and live entertainment. Special Entertainment includes: Lucky Afternoon, 7 and 8:30 p.m. today; Nottingham Four, 7 and 8:30 p.m. Friday; and Adult Swim, 7 and 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Nightly carnival menu, cake wheel, cash bingo and Chinese auction benefiting the fire company.
