LEWISTOWN — The United Way of Mifflin-Juniata is seeking corporate sponsors for its 29th annual Day of Caring, scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 16.
Now in its 29th year, Day of Caring is the United Way’s largest annual volunteer event, bringing together hundreds of community members to complete service projects that benefit nonprofit organizations, schools, parks and other community spaces throughout Mifflin and Juniata counties.
Projects have included playground improvements, painting community facilities, preparing firewood for winter and organizing food pantries. According to the United Way, the event provides agencies with volunteer labor for projects they may not otherwise have the staff or financial resources to complete.
Organizers anticipate more than 35 project sites participating this year, with hundreds of volunteers working throughout the two counties.
Businesses interested in sponsoring the event may choose from three sponsorship levels. The JackHammer Club, at $750, includes top-tier logo placement on volunteer T-shirts, event signage, social media recognition and acknowledgment in news releases. The SledgeHammer Club, at $500, includes logo placement on T-shirts, printed materials and social media recognition. The Carpenter Club, at $250, includes recognition on printed materials, the United Way website, social media and in news releases.
The deadline to become a sponsor is Friday, Aug. 14.
For more information or to become a sponsor, contact the United Way of Mifflin-Juniata at (717) 248-9636.
