Road projects continue next week

LEWISTOWN — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced its maintenance schedule for Mifflin and Juniata counties during the week of June 15, with motorists advised to expect flagging operations and possible delays in several locations.
In Mifflin County, crews will perform joint and crack sealing on Route 655 between the Huntingdon-Mifflin county line in Menno Township and Tea Creek Road in Brown Township from Monday through Thursday. Patching work is also scheduled on Route 2004 (Green Avenue/Back Maitland Road) between Kishacoquillas Street in Lewistown Borough and Mt. Spring Lane in Decatur Township during the same period.
In Juniata County, base repair work is planned on Route 333 between Route 75 and Tuscarora Road in Turbett Township on Monday and Tuesday. Additional base repairs are scheduled Wednesday and Thursday on Groninger Valley Road between Spruce Hill Road in Beale Township and Route 75 in Turbett Township.
Bridge maintenance and cleaning will continue on Goodville Road at the Dutchman Run bridge east of Salem. A detour remains in place using routes 235, 333 and Evendale Hill Road.
Pipe replacement and cleaning work is also planned in Juniata County. Crews will work on McKinley Road between Route 35 and McCoysville Road on Monday and Wednesday and on McCoysville Road between Route 850 and Jay’s Lane on Thursday.
PennDOT said flaggers will provide traffic control during daylight hours at active work zones, and pilot vehicles may be used. Motorists are reminded to remain behind pilot vehicles displaying “Pilot Car Follow Me” signs and flashing yellow lights.
PennDOT crews will not work Friday, June 19, in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.
The schedule is subject to change due to weather, emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances. Residents may report roadway concerns by calling 1-800-FIX-ROAD.
